Weather

There is no need to email us for weather-related cancellations.

Games continue as scheduled unless you hear from us (by email, website and @TMBLupdates).

Games may be cancelled or rescheduled if the field is not fit for play. We follow the City of Toronto's Sports Field Playability and Responsibility Guide (revised November 4, 2013):

  • Visual ponding of water on the surface of the diamond indicates that the field should be closed.
  • Water sponging up around permit users feet when walking on the diamond indicates that the field should be closed.
  • Where there are large areas of mud that are clearly visible on the playing field, the field should be closed.
  • Players should never attempt to remove water from playing fields by using a broom to push the water towards a grassy area.
  • Standing water may be removed by the use of a pump, sponge or by bailing with a container.

Games may also be cancelled or rescheduled for lightning. Baseball Ontario (supported by Environment Canada) directs us to seek shelter for at least 30 minutes after the last rumble of thunder.

We make every effort to conitnue play. While we actively monitor field conditions before every game, the conditions may change at any time.
